Between sessions with a certified reflexologist, there are gentle techniques you can explore on your own. These are not a replacement for professional care but can provide comfort and support your healing journey.
Thumb Roll Along the Forearm Reflex Point: The reflex points for the forearm sit along the outer edge of the hand, in the central area between the base of the pinkie and the wrist. Using your opposite thumb, gently roll across this area to release tension in the forearm muscles connected to CTS.
PC6 Self-Massage: Place three fingers from your opposite hand just below the crease of your inner wrist. The point beneath your fingertips is PC6. Using your thumb, massage this area in slow, circular motions for about 30 seconds. Repeat five times. You may feel some initial sensitivity in this area, which is normal.
LI4 Pressure: Find the fleshy webbing between your thumb and index finger. Press down firmly with the thumb of your opposite hand and make slow circles. Hold for two to three minutes on each hand. This point is a powerful stress and tension reliever.
Gentle Joint Mobilization: Slowly move each finger through its full range of motion, bending, extending, and rotating each joint gently. This keeps the joints mobile and reduces nerve compression at each point.
Hydration: After any reflexology work, drink a full glass of water. Reflexology stimulates the release of toxins held in tissue. Flushing the system with water supports the cleansing and healing process.
